How does it work?
Book your session by clicking on the photo of your chosen director. Before you book, you'll be able to read more information on their credits, their philosophy, and their availability. Sessions can be one-on-one, or up to four people, for the same price. Split the cost with your fellow actors!
After you've booked, you'll receive your sides via email. Sides are chosen to suit your age, gender, and look. Directors often provide us with current scripts from projects that they are working on. If you want to work on a specific scene (eg, for an audition or reading) - attach it when you book so we can pass it on to the director. We recommend you learn your lines.
For your first session, the first 10 minutes will generally consist of a short chat to get to know you and a review of your Spotlight profile, headshots, and reel. The next 40 minutes will be focused on directing you in your scene. Every session includes a reader (unless there's two of you). You'll try bold offers, being directed as if you were on a professional set. The last 10 minutes are for a Q&A with the director.
As a rule, we will assign you a new scene for every session. However, if you want to work with one director on the same scene across multiple sessions - that's fine! Perhaps you want to work the scene, then shoot it as a self-tape, then get feedback and work on it further. This is your session; we will craft it to suit you.
Got a big audition you want direction on from a real director? Let us know that's what you want to focus on when you book, send us your sides, and we will make it happen.
Please ensure you are on time to your session, ideally in the waiting room 5 minutes before starting. A director's time is valuable, and professionally speaking it reflects badly on you if you are late.
